It’s September and the temperatures are beginning to cool down a bit. Kick off the harvest season with a visit to this local pumpkin farm. Barden Family Orchard in Rhode Island is known for its super sweet pick-your-own berries. But did you realize they also have a pumpkin patch too? Nothing quite announces the arrival of fall like spending the afternoon picking out that perfect pumpkin.
Barden Family Orchards is a 30-acre family farm in North Scituate. Head on over between Labor Day and Halloween to visit their pumpkin patch.
The bright orange pumpkins start to appear in the field in August. They are left undisturbed until September to give them time to plump up and fill out.
The Barden Family Orchard is open for pumpkin and apple picking on weekdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The farm store is open one hour later each day for already picked produce.
