There’s nothing better on a hot summer day than splashing around in the water. In Rhode Island, you might be tempted to head to one of our many gorgeous beaches to spend time in the surf. But there’s a lesser-known natural waterpark, tucked away in the quieter northwest corner of the state, that’s definitely worth a visit. Let’s check it out:
Nestled away in the town of Burrillville, you'll find Spring Lake Beach. It offers 750 feet of sandy beachfront on a freshwater lake, making an ideal spot to spend a summer day.
Swimming is the primary attraction at Spring Lake Beach but there are many other activities to keep the kids busy at this family-friendly spot. A waterslide and diving dock is just the beginning of the low-key attractions.
Right on the beach, you'll find the Beach Shoppe where you can sign out games like badminton, volleyball, bean bag toss, hula hoops, and more. The concession stand has delicious fried foods and plenty of ice cream so there's no need to lug a cooler to the beach.
Kayak rentals are available too. Just $2 for every 15 minutes means that kids can try it out without breaking the bank.
Small boat rentals for the pint-sized members of your party lets even the little kids get in on the action.
When a break from the lake is needed, a playground on the sandy shore gives the kids a place to play and warm up in the sunshine.
The park is also home to Spring Lake Arcade. Play some of the oldest games in the country on just a handful of change at this nostalgic penny arcade.
When you're looking for an alternative to the ocean, Spring Lake is just the water playground you need.
Visit Spring Lake June 1 through September 2, 2019. Admission is $3 for town residents and $6 for non-residents. Learn more by visiting their
