Rhode Island is still home to five fully functional grist mills, which is almost unheard of in present times. Four of them are open to the public, one of which is Kenyon’s Grist Mill. But what some don’t know is that Kenyon’s Grist Mill is home to a somewhat hidden waterfall, and it’s a sight you won’t want to miss.

Kenyon's Grist Mill is located in West Kingston, where it has remained since 1886. the property sits nestled along the banks of the Queen's River in the village of Usquepaugh.

And not only is it still operational, but the original 1886 grist mill is still used, as are the original granite millstones quarried from Westerly.
Kenyon's Grist Mill has certainly received its share of publicity over the years.

It was featured on the Travel Channel and Martha Stewart. It's also nationally known for its Johnny Cake Meal and Clam Cake Mix.
But when you visit, you'll see that there's a lot more to this place than the grist mill and the retail store.
