Some things were just made for summer – waterparks, lazy days at the beach, and swimming in the ocean. This farmers market in Rhode Island, however, is not one of those things. It’s the place to go all year round for a delightful selection of fresh fruits and veggies, delicious baked goodies, and an assortment of other items, including honey.
The Farm Fresh Rhode Island Farmers Market in Providence bucks tradition, welcoming shoppers all year round to its indoor farmers market.
One of the ways it does that is with the farmers market, which welcomes shoppers every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the summer, you can pay with WIC while SNAP and EBT payments are accepted all year round.
Those paying with SNAP also receive Bonus Bucks. For every dollar you spend, you’ll receive a bonus dollar to use to purchase fresh produce. Bonus Bucks can be used at participating Rhode Island farmers markets.
Vendors at the market may vary from month to month. However, there’s always a generous assortment on hand. Previous vendors have included Daily Farm, The Coffee Guy, Gnarly Food Truck, and RI Mushroom Co.
If you don’t have space to compost your food scraps and other compostable materials, save them and bring them to the farmers market. Just drop them in the collection bin when you stop by.
