We’ve all ridden bumper cars at an amusement park at one time or another. It is no doubt one of the most giggle-inducing activities to be found. But what if you take that experience and put it on the ice? You’ll get an experience full of grins, spins, and epic fun. Rhode Island is home to the first outdoor rink to have ice bumper cars. Now that the weather is cold, it’s time to make plans for your outing onto the ice.
Get ready to take a spin in one of the newest innovations to hit the ice. The Providence Rink at the Alex and Ani City Center was the first outdoor skating rink to bring bumper cars to their winter playground.
Fun for all ages, the rates are $12 for 20 minutes of ice time and riders ages 3-5 are free. To ride a car by yourself, individuals must be at least 6 years old and 42 inches tall. To carry a passenger, you must be 16 years old and the rider must be 3-5 years old.
The bumper cars are easy to operate with two joysticks controlling the motion. It's like playing a video game where instead of watching a screen, you're right in the center of the action!
You can walk-up and ride the cars if they are available but your best bet is to make a reservation in advance especially if you're bringing a group. Call 401-680-7390 to make reservations and plan your unique winter outing today.
Find the Providence Rink at the Alex and Ani City Center, 2 Kennedy Plaza, Providence, RI 02903.
