Ghost stories usually garner one of several reactions – excitement, perhaps tinged with a bit of fear, and disbelief, maybe even accompanied by an eye roll. Or maybe your response falls somewhere in between? Even if you’re a non-believer, be prepared to have that stance tested when you embark on this ghost hunt in Rhode Island.
Arguably the most haunted place in Rhode Island, the world-famous Conjuring House draws curiosity seekers and ghost hunters from all over.
The most haunted house in Rhode Island dates back to 1736 and, over the years, housed eight generations of a single family. A child’s death and a woman’s suicide are just a few of the tragedies that took place in the home.
The haunted house offers daytime tours as well as a variety of paranormal investigation experiences if you’re up for conducting your own investigation with a group of friends.
However, if you’re game for an investigation headed by seasoned paranormal investigators, join the overnight ghost hunt with Ghost Hunts USA. (Participants must be 18 or older.)
Held select evenings, the ghost hunt runs from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Seasoned ghost hunters will guide the ghost hunt, and participants can use equipment, including EMF Meters. You’ll also have time to explore on your own - if you dare.
Your adventure will take place all over the house – from the dining room to the basement. If you keep an open mind, you never know what you’ll experience.
An evening at a house so haunted it inspired the Hollywood film “The Conjuring” requires quite a bit of energy – and courage. The ghost hunt fee includes snacks, water, coffee, Coke, and Diet Coke.
