Situated in the heart of downtown Newport in the middle of a row of shops and cafes is a local gem known as the Gas Lamp Grille. Since 2007, this charming eatery has been serving locals some seriously tasty American food. And since their doors have officially opened for indoor dining, it’s time to treat yourself to a hearty meal.

While the restaurant is modern and fairly new in the grand scheme of things, it definitely gives off a nostalgic vibe.
The interior is quite spacious -- in fact, there's even a private dining area that can host up to 200 guests (when current conditions allow).

There are two floors dedicated to dining.
The menu consists of a great list of classic comfort foods like warm soft pretzels and chili.

They even serve Rhode Island style calamari, which is rings only, served with cocktail sauce.
There's an entire section of the menu dedicated to mac & cheese, which is fantastic.
