Get lost for an autumn afternoon in the vibrant foliage at Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge in Exeter. It is the largest and one of the most diversely beautiful properties owned by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island.
Enjoy a short jaunt or a longer outing on more than five miles of well-marked paths. The trails are easy for even the littlest legs to navigate, so bring the whole family for a leaf-peeping excursion.
The refuge contains a diverse landscape of fields, forest, ponds, streams, and cedar swamp. During autumn, the trees burst into bold colors in every direction.
There are quaint footbridges crossing over gurgling streams and even a small waterfall. And you'll find plenty of spots that are worthy of a photo or two.
