7 Virtual Spring Break Vacations Your Little Rhode Islander Can Take This Year

Much like the rest of the world, Spring Break in Rhode Island will look a little different this year. And for parents and grandparents, that might mean having some tough conversations with some young people who were hoping to do some exploring. But thanks to the virtual tours that are currently available, you can actually “visit” plenty of places without leaving your couch.
We’ve gathered a great list of places you can check out with your little Rhode Islanders this year, one for each day of the week of Spring Break. Best of all, you’ll get to explore the country and still sleep in your own bed each night.
The city of Providence has set up a webcam near some Peregrine Falcons. Watch them bow to each other, fly together, and engage in other courtship behaviors. Enjoy an adorable science lesson here.
2. Tuesday: Stroll through the Guggenheim Museum in New York
Between the famous stairs and the incredible works of art, this museum in New York City is a popular place. And while younger children might not be that impressed with Post-Impressionist and Modern art, if you order some New York style pizza while you look, they'll be persuaded to stick around. 3. Wednesday: See some sea-dwellers at New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium is one of the top attractions in Boston, and ordinarily, it would be packed during Spring Break. But this year, you'll have to check in on the fish, seals, sharks, and other creatures virtually. But don't worry, these virtual visits are the next best thing.
While you're in virtual Boston, take a tour of the USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel that's still afloat. Everyday at 1 p.m., the crew conducts a Facebook live tour of the ship, complete with taking your questions in the comments section. Set your alarm and check it out here.
5. Friday: Take a virtual art tour with The Avenue Concept in Providence
Even if you live in Providence, exploring it is not currently recommended. But you can always take a virtual art tour through The Avenue Concept, an organization that has provided so many wonderful works of public art throughout the city. For the time being, you can explore many of them here.
What child (or kid at heart... or anyone, really) wouldn't want to go to Disneyworld on Spring Break? During this unprecedented time in history, you can only visit Disneyworld virtually... but it's still pretty amazing. Check it out.
