If you’re an ice cream fanatic, you know the decadent dessert is fantastic any day of the year. And if a little bit of ice cream is good, a lot must be even better, right? You’ll find everything you’re craving at Newport Creamery, even if what you’re craving happens to be a sundae the size of your head. This old school spot has a dessert menu to die for.
The creamery's roots go all the way back to 1928 when Samuel Rector took over a dairy on Van Zandt Avenue in Newport and became a wholesale milk distributor. His son joined the business a few years later.
In 1940, the Rectors opened a milk bar in Middletown (its flagship location) that served delicious ice cream. Needless to say, that venture has been quite successful.

A hearty breakfast menu is served at each location daily, along with classic lunch and dinner items like soups, salads, sandwiches and melts, and tasty burgers.
