Wintertime certainly can have us feeling cooped up every now and then, and some of us begin counting down to spring before we’ve even seen our first snowfall. Fortunately, with its hilly terrain and snowy days, Pennsylvania makes it easy to keep cabin fever at bay. We can go sledding, hiking, cross-country skiing, or attend one of winter’s many outdoor events, like this winter festival in Drums, Pennsylvania.
Clear your calendar for WinterFest at Nescopeck State Park in Drums, an epic family-friendly event that’s slated for Saturday, Feb. 3., 2024 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The annual winter festival features a full menu of fun. Although the itinerary may change due to the weather, planned activities include games and crafts for the kiddos, ice fishing and ice safety with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and tree identification with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Forestry.
After a day of fun at WinterFest, explore Nescopeck State Park some more. While the state park does not groom its trail, they’re still ideal for cross-country skiing, or set off on foot. The park boasts 19 miles of hiking trails.
