Let’s go the zoo! We can’t hop in the car and go to any zoos in Pennsylvania at the moment due to the mandatory shutdown. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t go on a virtual journey that the kids (and you) will absolutely love. Pennsylvania’s Elmwood Park Zoo, for example, has introduced a virtual zoo school, and that’s just the beginning of the online fun that awaits.
Elmwood Park Zoo’s a popular destination for animal lovers. Even though it had to shutter its doors due to current events, the zoo still promises plenty of virtual fun for the whole family.
That’s right. The kiddos can attend zoo school, check in on the zoo’s residents, and find a ton of activities online. In fact, fresh content is published frequently, so you’ll never get bored.
Zoo School Live airs every weekday at 11 a.m. At Zoo School, the kiddos (and you) will get to “meet” the zoo’s animal ambassadors and learn from the zoo’s education team. Have questions? You’ll have a chance to ask them.
The live webcams allow you to get a peek into the daily lives of the giraffes and the eagles from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. You can even snap photos and move the camera to explore the animals’ habitats.
Don’t forget to check out Bubby’s Hub, too, a digital education hub that’s chock full of fun for kids of all ages. Start with a visit to Bubby’s YouTube Channel, where you can…
Watch past sessions of Zoo School Live and other fun videos. Bubby’s Channel also features fun games – Savanna Sounds and Camouflage Seek & Find – and a book club with activity sheets.
Will you virtually visit Pennsylvania’s Elmwood Park Zoo, or have you already? Share your experience in the comments! If you’re up for a little bit of outdoor adventure, plan a visit to Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania.
