Spring is all about rebirth – from the blossoming of the flowers to the return of the spring peepers. Although we can’t get out and explore as much as we’d probably like or normally would this spring, we can still satisfy our wanderlust with a bit of virtual travel. We can walk among a beautiful sea of flowers, for example, at the Scott Arboretum in Pennsylvania.
The Scott Arboretum at Swarthmore College, less than a half an hour from Philadelphia, still welcomes visitors to explore its majestic 425-acre garden of blossoming flowers and trees. (You must still practice safe social distancing.)
Dating back to the early 20th century, the Scott Arboretum boasts a stunning collection of more than 4,000 plants – ranging from the Dean Bond Rose Garden to the Gold Medal Garden.
Virtually tour the grounds as you learn about the Pollinator Garden, the Magnolia Collection that features more than 130 types of magnolias, and the Wister Garden, a lush woodland garden.
Whether you’re exploring in person (open daily from dawn to dusk) or taking a virtual tour, you’ll likely be inspired with ideas for your own garden. The arboretum also features a blog with gardening tips.
