Our leaf-peeping adventures often take us all over Pennsylvania – from our neighborhood parks to sprawling state forests. We usually don’t have to venture too far to soak up the beauty of the season, a big plus if we’ve got jam-packed schedules. If you do have some time to get out and explore, add this under-the-radar hiking trail to your must-visit list. It boasts some of the best fall foliage in Tannersville, Pennsylvania.
Unless you live in the Poconos, you may not be aware of one of its most magnificent gems, Big Pocono State Park, a natural attraction that spans just over 1,300 acres.
Tannersville is perhaps best known for Camelback Mountain Resort, a popular destination all year. From skiing in the winter to frolicking in the waterpark in the summer, the Pennsylvania resort promises something for everyone.
Perhaps best known for its sensational views, Big Pocono State Park features more than half a dozen hiking trails that range from easy to difficult.
Have a pooch? Bring him along; leashed pups are welcome on this picturesque path.

While the trail scores an easy rating, be prepared to maneuver your way around rocky terrain. Some hikers assert that the rocks make the trail more of a moderate trek.
To avoid twisting your ankle, wear a pair of sturdy shoes, and keep an eye on where you're walking. The trail can sometimes be overgrown, so keep that in mind, too.
Bring a picnic along, too, for after your hike. The three picnic areas, which have tables and charcoal grills, also promise some of those sensational views.
