Sometimes, if we know just where to look, we can find the most amazing restaurants in the most unexpected of places. Like a former textile mill. If you’ve ever been to the town of Weissport, you’ve probably heard of The Hofford Mill, which has transformed into a delightful destination. It’s also the home of The Gorge in Pennsylvania, a charming restaurant that boasts a scrumptious and unique menu.

Hoffman Mill has had quite a few identities during its lifespan, starting as a lumber mill in 1896 before spending time as a general store, a furniture repair shop, and a textile mill.
Today, Hoffman Mill is home to an axe-throwing attraction, a coffee bar, and the bright and airy Gorge Eatery, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
A tall, cold drink often offers the perfect prelude to a delicious meal. The drinks menu features such tasty alcoholic drinks as the lavender gin and tonic and the mango majito.
Definitely bring a hearty appetite with you, because once you see the appetizers, your mouth is likely to start watering. Try such favorites as the buffalo chicken nachos, the cheese curds, or the Irish egg rolls.
The Gorge offers a limited menu, but every item promises a ton of flavor. You can order one of several types of buttermilk chicken sandwiches. The Mac Daddy, for example, comes topped with mac and cheese and barbecue sauce.
Flatbreads and pressed sandwiches are also on the menu. Fill up on the famous Montrealer, a hearty Montreal beef brisket sandwich that comes with a generous assortment of toppings.
The Gorge also boasts seasonal dishes on the menu. You might find, during the summer, such taste-tantalizing meals as pork schnitzel, red curry squash, and Norweigan salmon.
