Life just tends to pass by at breakneck speed. Oftentimes, we barely have enough time to slow down, catch our breath, and just take a break. That means we need to get a bit creative with our time, going away for an overnight when we don’t have a weekend free. This unique adventure in Pennsylvania doesn’t require a ton of time. However, it’s sure to leave you refreshed, relaxed, and already planning your next visit.
Have you ever noticed how relaxing the rhythm of a train chugging along the tracks is? Well, you'll soon find out when you climb aboard a train ride with Everett Railroad in Hollidaysburg.
If you travel during Christmas, you might even run into this jolly fella. The railroad hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the Easter Eggspress (the Easter Bunny joins in on the fun) and the Ice Cream Special.
Other fun train ride themes have included the Martinsburg Special Lunch Train, the Pumpkin Patch Train, and the Santa Express. The railroad has even offered a few adults-only train rides, like the Rails & Ales.
Keep an eye on the railroad's schedule because train rides can sell out quickly. On the day of your trip, be sure to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes prior to your departure.
Everett Railroad offers train rides on select weekends. The 2023 schedule hasn't been released yet, so keep an eye on the Everett Railroad website, for all the latest news.
Each comfy room is named after a railroad, such as the Western Maryland Suite and the Erie Suite. If you enjoy watching trains pass by, request one of the rooms with a view of the tracks.
When you've got a few minutes, sit on the front porch, and watch as the trains pass by. You might want to bring a camera along, too. Learn more about the railroad-themed rooms or book your stay on The Station Inn website.
