The brainchild of Mahlon Haines aka "The Shoe Master," the Haines Shoe House debuted in 1948 as a charming yet quirky guesthouse that attracted newlyweds as well as older couples.
Jeff and Melanie Schmuck took ownership of the beloved roadside attraction during the winter of 2015, ensuring the public continued to have access to the Haines Shoe House.
Stop by the storybook shoe house for a 25 minute guided tour that will provide you insight into the shoe house's past and just might kick start your imagination. The fee for the guided tour is five dollars while children five and under are free.
No stop at the Haines Shoe House would be complete without a scrumptious treat. Opt for something sugary sweet - a cake pop, peanut butter fudge, angel food cake, a shoe brownie, or...

The Haines Shoe House is officially open for the 2017 season. Visit between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Memorial Day. After Memorial Day, the Shoe House welcomes guests Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Haines Shoe House is open annually from the first day of spring through October. Fall hours - from Labor Day until Halloween - are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
