Most of us would probably agree that it’s all about the views, whether we’re buying a home, looking for a memorable restaurant, or embarking on a hike. Rimrock Overlook Trail in Pennsylvania boasts breathtaking views of the Allegheny Reservoir and beyond. While it requires some effort to arrive at the overlook, that effort is well rewarded with stunning views.
Rimrock Overlook Trail wanders through 2.6 miles of the Allegheny National Forest, a prime destination for outdoor lovers that measures more than half of a million acres.
Although it's rated moderate, due in part to the need to climb stairs, the trail can get quite crowded at times. Be prepared for that if you're heading over on a particularly nice day.
Pick up the scenic hiking trail at Kinzua Beach. The trail will take you over a variety of terrain and through a forested area, so wear appropriate shoes.
The trail also features winding stone staircases that will lead you through the boulders and take you to the overlook. Just be forewarned that the stairs are quite narrow. (However, you can hold on to the rails to help you keep your balance.)
