Weekends are just made for relaxing – and for good food. However, by the time we reach the end of a long, busy week, most of us don’t feel like spending hours in the kitchen making a delicious meal for the whole family. That makes the weekend the perfect time to dine out at such charming eateries as this restaurant tucked in a restored Pennsylvania barn. (You’ll even enjoy a scrumptious homemade meal.)
Sit down to an old-fashioned, family-style meal at Hickory Bridge Farm Restaurant in Orrtanna, just a 15-minute drive from the historic town of Gettysburg.
Tucked in a restored barn that dates back more than 160 years, the charming restaurant offers family-style dining for parties of between one and 30 guests.
Parties sit at their own private table and enjoy a hearty homemade meal. Meals consist of a salad, entrees (both meat), sides, and a dessert. A drink and the restaurant's famous Crab Imperial are also included.
No matter when you visit, you'll also have the house salad, fritters, and stewed apples.
Reservations are necessary. In fact, you'll probably want to call well in advance of the day you hope to visit since the restaurant often books quickly.
Cost for the family-style meal is, as of February 2020, $29.95 for adults, $10.95 for kids six to 12, and $5.95 for kids five and younger.
Bring the whole family to the charming Hickory Bridge Farm Restaurant, which welcomes guests for family-style dining Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
