Everyone who lives in Pennsylvania is proud, but why? We could come up with an endless list of explanations, but these ten are reason enough to brag endlessly.
1) Buttercream Cupcakes, Krimpets, Kandy Kakes-- these are only a few of the treats sold by the Tasty Kake company, based in Philadelphia.
2) Pennsylvania is rife with history, particularly Philadelphia where the Liberty Bell is housed. The Declaration of Independence was signed here, too.
3) Pittsburgh is the dinosaur capital of the world. The Carnegie Museum houses the largest collection of Jurassic dinosaur bones in the world and there are dinosaur statues scattered throughout the city.
4) The cheesesteak is Philadelphia's blessed gift to the world... but any cheesesteak not from Philly is only a sad imitation.
5) The wildly popular television series, The Office, takes place in the otherwise nondescript Pennsylvania city of Scranton.
6) Historically, Pennsylvania's coal and steel industries formed the backbone of America.
7) We love our sports in Pennsylvania and many talented teams call this state their home.
8) Yuengling, America's oldest brewery, is located in Pottsville, PA.
9) If you love roller coasters, then Pennsylvania is the state for you-- from Hershey Park, to Knoebels, to Dorney Park, we have an amusement park for everyone.
10) Shankweiler's Drive-In Theatre was the first drive-in movie theater in America, and it's still in operation today.
