Remember how, when we were young, our parents or adults were always telling us not to touch the items on the shelves when we went shopping or to a museum? We were taught to keep our hands to ourselves and, uh-oh, if we didn’t listen and broke something. Forget all of that when you take the kids to Please Touch Museum in Pennsylvania, named by readers of USA Today as one of the best children’s museums in the United States.
Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia earned recognition from readers of USA Today, coming in seventh on the list of the 10 Best Children’s Museums in the United States. The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh sneaked in right behind at number eight.
Whether it’s been years or you’ve never been to Please Touch Museum, you’ll definitely want to plan a visit soon. After all, the two-story attraction is just as fun for the adults as it is for the kiddos.
Play is the name of the game at the museum, and you’ll have a ton of fun and educational permanent and temporary exhibits to explore, including the Creative Arts Studio. The sky – and your imagination – is the limit as to what you create.
Ride the Woodside Park Dentzel Carousel; visit Nature’s Pond, and explore the outdoor garden when the weather allows. You might even get to water some plants.
STEM is the theme at the Makerspace Studio, where the whole family can create using hammers, drills, screwdrivers, and an assortment of industrial tools.
You can also sign the kids up for age-appropriate programs (which require them to be with an adult caregiver), that focus on the creative arts, literacy, or science.
When you get hungry, make your way to the Garden Grille Café for a hearty meal or a delicious snack. The café serves everything from sandwiches to snack cups.
