Pittsburghers are big on tradition – from kicking off the holiday season at Light Up Night to ringing in a new year with a ball that rises. Autumn offers so many opportunities to start new – and to continue – treasured traditions. A neighborhood favorite for more than 150 years, Trax Farms near Pittsburgh is the perfect fall destination – and a beloved autumn tradition for countless Pittsburghers.
Just half an hour from downtown Pittsburgh, Trax Farms in Finleyville draws visitors all year round with its farm market, antique shop, and the many events it hosts.
Held on Saturdays and Sundays from late September through late October, the Fall Festival features a full menu of family-friendly fun including hayrides.
Join other festival-goers on a scenic hayride that takes you straight to the pumpkin patch, brimming with pumpkins of all shades and sizes. Pick your favorites before heading back to the festival area.
Bring plenty of cash along as there will be more fun activities that are individually priced. The kiddos can go on a train ride, or the whole family can try the Bungee Jumper or can climb a rock wall.
Food trucks will also be on hand during the festival. Those trucks slated to attend at varying times during the festival include Pita Pan PGH and Wood Stoked Oven. You can also stop by the farm café for a bite to eat.
