Hiking’s usually filled with delightful surprises. We never know what we’re going to discover – a hidden waterfall, local wildlife, or even decaying ruins – no matter how many times we’ve gone down the same path. Drenched in natural beauty, this picturesque trail boasts hidden gems along the way, including a heart-dropping suspension bridge. If you’ve never hiked it before, you’ll definitely want to add it to your must-hike list.
Just under two hours from downtown Pittsburgh, Oil Creek State Park offers a beautiful backdrop for a day of exploring - especially if you're a fan of suspension bridges.
To pick up the trail, first start by parking at either Miller Farm Bridge or the Jersey Lot. Bring lots of water and snacks, too, for the hike that usually takes a minimum of two hours.
The trail features a lot of uphill climbing and some rough patches - rocks and muddy areas, for example - so you'll definitely want to make sure you're up for the challenge.
