Summer usually earns props for being the best season, at least when it comes to fun activities. However, winter certainly does give summer a run for its money, especially when it comes to thrilling outdoor activities that you just can’t enjoy any other time of the year. Like snow tubing. For non-stop thrills, spend a snowy day at Hidden Valley Resort near Pittsburgh.
Take a deep breath before you set off on the snow tubing hill that boasts a 450-foot vertical drop at Hidden Valley Resort in Somerset.
The thrilling snow tubing hill promises non-stop fun all winter long, and Hidden Valley’s only about an hour’s drive from downtown Pittsburgh. (If you think the drive is pretty during fall foliage, wait until you see it when the countryside is sprinkled with snow.)
Bring the whole family or grab your friends for a fun day or evening on the snow tubing hill. Snow tubing is open to all adventurers age four and older.
Kiddos 10 and older can grab their own tube and zip down the hill on their own. However, the little ones between four and nine must be accompanied by an adult on the snow tubing hill.
While you can join the kiddos on the snow tubing hill, everyone has to go down the hill on their own and in their own tube. Once you get to the bottom, climb on the lift to take your right back to the top.
Snow tubing sessions run for two hours, and sessions tend to fill up quickly. Arrive at Hidden Valley early as only a limited amount of tickets are available online.
Beginning on January 7, 2020 and running through March 4, 2021, Hidden Valley Resort will host Thursday Night Tube-A-Palooza. For just $27 per person, you can glide down the tubing hill as many times as you want from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tickets to Tube-A-Palooza include a buffet with pizza and hot dogs, hot chocolate, and pop. It’s all-you-can-eat, so you can keep your energy up for your night of snow tubing thrills.
