Well, we really only have one official, named waterfall in Pittsburgh AND in Allegheny County, and that’s Fall Run Falls. You can find it in the park of the same name in Glenshaw, just about a 10-minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh. One of the biggest selling points of this picturesque waterfall is the trail that leads to it. Fall Run Trail is easy, kid-friendly, and fun for the whole family. Definitely bring a camera along, because the trail is absolutely beautiful, passing through lush green and over footbridges. The highlight of the trail is, of course, the cascade that tumbles down 30 feet. You can view the waterfall from the base and, if you’re up for it, climb a wooden staircase for a bird’s eye view. If you’ve got a few hours, hang out at the park that also features basketball hoops, picnic tables, and a playground for the kids.

Are there any hiking trails with waterfalls in Pittsburgh?

You’ll definitely want to follow Fall Run Trail at least once. However, for more chasing waterfalls, you’ll need to leave the city limits and Allegheny County.
