Embark on a leisurely hike along Peter's Trail, tucked in Peters Lake Park, a picturesque trail in Canonsburg that's ideal for hikers of all ages and skill levels.
The trail is predominately dirt, although about a quarter of a mile is paved. While Peter's Trail is considered easy, you might stumble upon some roots sticking up from the ground, so keep an eye out.
Peter's Trail hugs the shimmering lake for part of the hike. Because the trail is scenic and easy, it can get pretty crowded on warm days. However, it is a fun hike no matter the season.
Be prepared if you're hiking after a rainfall, and wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. The dirt part of the trail can get extremely muddy after a rain or a snowfall.
After you finish the hike, you may want to head to the lake for some fun on the water.
The lake offers two boat launches, where you can set sail on a kayak or a canoe. It's also an ideal spot for fishing.
