While most people know it as the Original Yaca Dome, those who own the unique Pittsburgh Airbnb simply refer to it as "The Igloo."
No matter what you call it, you can't deny it's perhaps the most unique property in the Pittsburgh area. Built by Pittsburgher Joseph Yacoboni in 1969, the dome-shaped home was the first of only 26 built in the United States.
Its one-of-a-kind design had a few purposes - to allow it to stand up against winds of up to 250 miles per hour and to ensure it stayed standing during earthquakes.
