When’s the last time you had a really good sandwich? One of those sandwiches that tasted perfect and filled you up? Well, if it’s been a while, you’ll definitely want to make a beeline for this Pittsburgh restaurant where you’ll have your choice of two huge fish sandwiches that spill off of the bun. But, make sure you go hungry because you’ll likely have trouble passing up the delicious sides that pair perfectly with the fish sandwich.
Nestled in Market Square, the Original Oyster House has been a Pittsburgh staple for 148 years.
Sit under the protective shade of an umbrella, outside of the historic Pittsburgh restaurant, where you can enjoy a chat with friends and watch the goings-on at one of Pittsburgh's busiest spots.
Or, grab a seat indoors, at the bar or at one of the tables in the restaurant that has starred in numerous movies, including The Night of the Living Dead.
If you're really hungry, opt for the hearty fish boat platter or the Titanic platter, the latter of which features the monster fish sandwich. Pair your mega sandwich with two sides, such as onion rings, fries, coleslaw, applesauce, or green beans.
Of course, the enormous fish sandwich may be one of the most popular dishes, but it's not the only one at the Original Oyster House. Other platters include Maryland-style crab cakes, baked scrod, and breaded scallops.
Treat yourself to the famous fish sandwich at the Original Oyster House, open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Or, stop by on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
