7 Little Known Food Festivals In Pittsburgh That Are So Worth The Trip
Festival season’s about to kick into full gear. And, you know what that means. Tons of festivals – food, drink, community, and church, to name a few – will be on this season’s agenda. With all the festivals in the Burgh, however, some do get overlooked. Here are seven little known (and a few known) food festivals in Pittsburgh you don’t want to miss this year.

Love tacos? Then, you’ll definitely want to add the Pittsburgh Taco Festival to your spring itinerary. Held at Highmark Stadium in Station Square, the Pittsburgh Taco Festival is set for Saturday, May 19, 2018. The festival is divided into two sessions: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. General admission costs $10 and includes access to over 20 taco vendors, live entertainment, and a children’s play area.

The 16th Annual Pittsburgh Wine Festival arrives at Heinz Field on May 5, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Discover some of the best wines – more than 500, in fact – from around the world. The festival will also feature educational seminars.

Mmm...mmm. Get your fill of delicious strawberries at Smicksburg Strawberry Saturday, set for June 9, 2018. The delightfully delectable festival features a full menu of strawberry desserts, including ice cream, cakes, cheesecakes, and pies.

Celebrate the bloody Mary at the first ever Pittsburgh Sunday Best Bloody Mary Festival. Slated for June 24, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the festival will feature a full menu of local restaurants, serving their best bloody Marys. Meat & Potatoes, Harris Grill, and NOLA on the Square are among those restaurants set to attend. Tickets range from $20 to $60.

Okay, so, Picklesburgh isn’t exactly little known. But, it certainly does deserve a mention, especially with so many pickle lovers in the Burgh. Picklesburgh takes over the Roberto Clemente Bridge July 20, 21, and 22, 2018. Eat a variety of pickle-flavored goodies – like potato chips and ice cream. Enjoy live entertainment. And, check out the kids’ area.

Again, not so little known but a staple of the Pittsburgh community, Bloomfield Little Italy Days celebrates all things Italian. Enjoy scrumptious, authentic Italian food. And, take part in the many activities during Little Italy Days, including live entertainment, a bocce court, a pasta eating contest, and Italian Idol. Bloomfield Little Italy Days will be held August 16-19, 2018.
