How’s your winter calendar looking? Once the holiday season passes, winter kind of slows down, doesn’t it? That’s why so many of us start digging for fun events we can check out during the winter months. Ligonier Ice Fest near Pittsburgh promises the perfect opportunity to get outdoors, to enjoy the fresh (but really cold) air, and to have fun.
Celebrating its 29th year, Ligonier Ice Fest is set for January 25 and 26, 2020, and it boasts a full menu of family-friendly activities.
The masterpiece of the festival will be, of course, the more than 50 ice sculptures that will be on display. (Don’t forget your camera, so you can snap photos and maybe even a few selfies.)
Seasoned ice carvers will also be on hand, carving brand new creations. Stop by and watch as the ice carvers transform a block of ice into an intricate sculpture.
For a truly unique experience, climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage for a scenic ride. Horse-drawn carriage rides are set for Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., as long as the weather cooperates.
