Ligonier Country Market Near Pittsburgh Has More Than 130 Vendors

Farmers market season has returned! That means we have quite a few farmers markets, right in the city, to check out on a weekly basis to stock up on fresh goodies, from fruits and veggies to fresh-baked breads and jams. If you’re up for a bit of a trek, however, plan a visit to Ligonier County Market, which boasts more than 130 vendors and both morning and evening hours during the 2020 season.

Roll down the windows, turn up the tunes, and follow your GPS to Ligonier Country Market, about an hour’s drive from downtown Pittsburgh.

The popular country market boasts more than 130 vendors, which means you are going to be spoiled for choices. But, you’ve only got a short window to snatch up the fresh fruits, veggies, and other goodies.

Hours at the country market are Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. from June through October. However, if you’re not a morning person, you definitely won’t miss out.

Ligonier Country Market will also host a Night Market, which runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., one night a month from June through October.

Because of the pandemic, the country market also has several guidelines to which all visitors are asked to adhere. You must wear a face covering or a face mask, maintain a social distance of six feet from other shoppers, and use hand sanitizer.

You can wash your hands at “hand washing” stations, and vendors prefer guests pay by card, although you can still use cash.

Finally, you can even pre-order and pre-pay for your purchases *before* you arrive at the market for the duration of the pandemic.

Vendors slated to be on hand on Saturday mornings include Bella Terra Vineyards, Gosias Pierogies, and Huckle Bee Farms.

In addition to fresh foods, vendors sell everything from handmade jewelry and goodies for your pets to candles and country crafts.
