Who’s up for a little late summer magic? Summer’s quickly heading toward its conclusion, but we’ve still got some amazing festivals coming up. This lights festival near Pittsburgh, for example, offers a magical evening for the whole family, filled with music, good food, and wishes for the future.
Spend an enchanting late summer evening listening to live entertainment, chowing down on scrumptious food, and watching the sky light up with the glow of thousands of lanterns (one of which will be yours).
The day's events kick off when the gates open at 3:30 p.m. Listen to the live entertainment; treat yourself to a delicious meal; and get your lantern ready for the launch.
You can decorate your lantern with your memories of the past, wishes for the future, or with the names of those you miss. Or, you don't have to decorate it at all.
When darkness falls, you'll join other guests in launching the lanterns. Worried about littering? The organizers of The Lights Fest spend several days cleaning up the area to ensure no lanterns are left behind.
