Do you believe in UFOs? How about Bigfoot? Two of the most enduring mysteries are, arguably, the existence of life on other planets and whether or not Bigfoot really exists. Some people spend their lives searching for the answers. Explore the paranormal, including UFOs and the existence of Bigfoot, at this unforgettable paranormal festival near Pittsburgh that also promises plenty to do for the whole family.
The Kecksburg UFO Festival, an annual event that combines paranormal events with family-friendly activities, celebrates an unforgettable event in the town's history.
In December 1965, a fireball that flew over the Northern U.S. and Pennsylvania, crash landed in Kecksburg. Witnesses claimed to have seen a tiny body on a gurney before they were ushered away from the crash site by Army officials.
Today, the town celebrates the incident that brought the popular TV show Unsolved Mysteries to town in the mid-1990s. The space acorn, pictured below, is a replica of the UFO created by the show's producers, based on witness accounts.
The weekend's festivities include plenty of paranormal activities, with appearances by UFO hunters, experts, and investigators. And, a Bigfoot expert will also be on hand during the UFO Conference.
But, the festival also promises plenty of family-friendly fun, too. Dress up as your favorite alien, or create your own costume for Saturday's parade, which begins at 2 p.m. Awards will be given for "Best UFO Costume" and "Best UFO Float."
And, keep the competitive mood going by participating in Saturday evening's corn hole tournament and Sunday's UFO hot dog eating contest and hay bale tossing contest.
