Pull out the calendar! Autumn’s right around the corner. And, you know what that means…a schedule jam-packed with hayrides, haunted houses, and fall festivals. One of the highlights of the season is the traditional corn maze. And, the farms in and around Pittsburgh boast some pretty spectacular corn mazes that are sure to challenge you. Get lost in this 10-acre corn maze near Pittsburgh, beginning September 15 and running through October 28, 2018.
Hop in the car, roll the windows down, and let the autumn wind whip through your hair as you travel to Irons Mill Farmstead, just over an hour from downtown Pittsburgh.
Stop by to say hello to the residents, including the goats, and offer them some goodies. Cheer during the pig races. Or, watch the kids race rubber duckies.
Plenty of delicious food. Indulge in such favorites as kettle corn, Amish-made donuts, funnel cakes, and hand-dipped corn dogs. Wash it all down with fresh lemonade or cider.
And, if you like the crisp fall evenings, visit the farm on Friday and Saturday evenings. You can even rent a campfire, where you can roast marshmallows. (Campsites are available for rent during the day, too.)
