While you're having fun, you'll also learn some fun facts. Check out the Science of Bikes, for example, an exhibit that illustrates how bikes work, their role in society, and their history. You'll even have the opportunity to play the Bike Body Xylophone.

Try your hand at rock climbing a 25-foot wall. Test your batting speed. Or, play an oversized (way oversized) game of Operation.
You can spend hours at Highmark SportsWork. Don't worry if you need a break. There are seats and vending machines if you want to grab a quick snack and a drink.
Please note, if you're going specifically for the rock climbing wall, call ahead to ensure that it is open. As of January 2023, it is closed.

The Carnegie Science Center allows visitors to explore different worlds at SpacePlace. Step into a simulation of the International Space Station. Or, launch your own foam rocket into the air. That, of course, is just the beginning.
This indoor play area in Pittsburgh also welcomes guests to check out the starry sky. SkyWatch offers the unique opportunity to gaze through a telescope in the planetarium. The special event is held on select evenings throughout the year.
Stop for a selfie with R2-D2 and C3PO in the Robot Hall of Fame. RoboWorld also hosts such interactive activities as basketball (and a robot shooting basketball).
Don't forget to stop by the Miniature Railroad & Village. Watch as the miniature trains chug along the track, past some familiar Western Pennsylvania landmarks.

Special events abound throughout the year. Save a snowball or two in your freezer this winter. Then head to the science center next summer for the annual snowball toss. The Carnegie Science Center also hosts classes and 21 and over events.
