Suffering from a bit of cabin fever or just over this roller coaster of a winter we’ve been having? Winter in Pittsburgh sometimes feels like it drags on forever, especially when we rarely get to see the sun. That makes now the perfect time to add a little magic – and a lot of wizardry – to your winter with a visit to the upcoming Harry Potter Festival in Pittsburgh.
Clear your schedules, Harry Potter fans! The Harry Potter Film & Cultural Festival kicks off on February 22 and runs through March 7, 2019.
That’s right! Harry Potter fans from all over Pittsburgh will have the chance to screen all of the Harry Potter films (including extended versions of the first two of the series) and participate in an assortment of fun activities.
The two-week event kicks off on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 5 p.m. Join other Harry Potter fans at Row House Cinema for a Sorting Ceremony, followed by a 5:45 p.m. showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Or, if you don’t want to visit Row House Cinema eight times to see all of the Harry Potter films, just buy tickets for the 24-hour marathon, beginning on Saturday, February 23, at 12:01 a.m.
Of course, the marathon will include dinner breaks and other breaks. Purchase the $10 survival kit, featuring unlimited pop and popcorn, to help keep you going. Enjoy prizes if you make it through all eight films.
Other festival activities over the two weeks include trivia nights, 21 and over nights featuring butterbeer, and a Harry Potter Game Show. Humane Animal Rescue will also bring some special furry guests and an owl on select dates.
