Life’s been a bit, well, different the last few months thanks to the pandemic. It’s not all been bad, though, especially with the reemergence of some of the treasures of yesteryear, including drive-in movie theaters. Now you can also experience another popular tradition of the early 20th century with carhop service at Gateway Grill near Pittsburgh.
Step way back in time, to the 1930s and 1940s, when you pull into a parking space at Gateway Grill in Monroeville, where you can indulge in a delicious meal without leaving the comfort of your car.
The full menu, with the exception of dinner entrees, is available for carhop service, so you’ve got quite a few scrumptious meals from which to choose.
If you’ve got a hankering for a hoagie, served with a generous side of potato chips, try the oven-baked Italian hoagie, the roast beef hoagie, or the classic Philly cheesesteak.
The Gateway Grill also serves an assortment of sandwich favorites. How does the Pittsburgh chicken, grilled chicken, or beef brisket sandwich sound? Add a helping of fries or a bowl of soup, too.
Will you go for carhop service at Gateway Grill near Pittsburgh? Or have you done so already? Let us know in the comments! On the hunt for a fun way to spend a summer evening while staying socially distant? Check out these drive-in movie theaters in and around Pittsburgh.
