Homemade just tastes so much better. Most of us would probably agree with that. But, with such busy schedules, how often do we have the time to make a meal from scratch? Fortunately, the Burgh’s home to plenty of eateries that dish up delicious, homemade meals just like mom used to make. If you’re craving a homecooked breakfast or lunch, set the GPS for this old school mom and pop diner in Pittsburgh that promises a filling and delicious meal.
Tucked in an unassuming strip mall in Carnegie, Gab & Eat has been dishing up delicious, homemade meals for more than 30 years.
Then, again, maybe a breakfast sandwich - the Eggel Bagel or the bacon & provolone cheese bagel, for example - will help jump start your day. Gab & Eat also offers an assortment of breakfast sides - from toast and muffins to eggs and bacon.
Or, if you've stopped by for lunch, sink your teeth into a juicy burger, the famous "Hey Ray" sandwich, or a hearty hoagie. Pair your main dish with a generous helping of fries, onion rings, or coleslaw.
Pull up a chair at Gab & Eat, open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
