Summer might win top billing when it comes to spending the most time outdoors. But, don’t count winter out, especially around the Pittsburgh-area. We can find plenty to do – from skiing and sledding to ice skating and snowmobiling. And, while summer might feature considerably more festivals, winter certainly brings with it some memorable events. Like this spectacular Fire and Ice Festival near Pittsburgh that offers plenty to do for the whole family.
Mark your calendars for one of winter's hottest events. The 24th Annual Fire & Ice Festival in Somerset, following a board games theme, is set for January 18-20, 2019.
The three-day annual event features a jam-packed schedule, including a 5K Walk/Run on January 19 and live entertainment and a marketplace, featuring local artists and vendors, throughout the weekend.
Purchase a festival pin for $6 at various Somerset locations. The pin offers such benefits as free admission to entertainment and the Chili Cook-off, deals at area shops, and $2 for entry to the ice skating rink.
