Deer are, perhaps, one of nature’s most majestic creatures. We, Pittsburghers, have plenty of opportunities to see them in our yard, at local parks, and wandering in our neighborhoods. And, of course, we’ve learned how to dodge them when we’re driving. This deer farm near Pittsburgh, however, offers an unforgettable opportunity to interact with these beautiful animals.
Less than two hours from downtown Pittsburgh, Double Diamond Deer Ranch promises a unique wildlife experience.
Snap photos from a distance. Or, if you visit between June and August, you may just have the chance to bottle feed or to provide treats to the growing fawns.
And, feed the rest of the gang, who sport such names as Prancer, Cupid, Dasher, and Henry. The deer at Double Diamond Deer Ranch are brown, white, and piebald white-tailed deer.
The deer typically "drop" their antlers during the winter, when the ranch is closed to the public.
