We, Pittsburghers, have likely heard of all the popular nearby waterfalls. Of course, we have Fall Run Falls in Glenshaw, the lone waterfall in Allegheny County. Then, a bit further afield, Ohiopyle State Park lays claim to Ohiopyle Falls, Cucumber Falls, and Jonathan Run Falls. But, have you heard of and visited Cole Run Falls near Pittsburgh? If not, add it to your to do list.
Pack up the car for a picture-perfect day at Forbes State Forest, less than an hour and a half from downtown Pittsburgh.
Gentle stream. In fact, getting to the waterfall is quite easy. Simply park your car in the small lot along Cole Run Road. Then, cross the street to the waterfall.
The 2.7-mile loop trail can be a bit more crowded than your visit to the falls. However, the moderately-rated trail offers plenty of beautiful scenery, including another small waterfall.
