Tucked in the bright and airy basement of Saint Mary of Mercy Church in Pittsburgh, Brother Andre's Cafe serves a delicious cup of coffee and scrumptious baked goods.
However, it also dishes up an inspirational story that's sure to provide encouragement for anyone who's ever faced what seemed like an insurmountable challenge.
Started by Patrick Fitzgerald and his parents, Mike and Terry, the coffee shop was born of Patrick's difficulty finding a job. Despite earning a degree at a community college, Patrick had little success finding a job due to his living with autism.
Instead of letting it get him down, he and his parents started Brother Andre's Cafe, named for Saint André Bessette, in partnership with Father Chris Donley of Move a Mountain Missions.
