Here are just 10 breathtaking spots in Pittsburgh to add to your to do list this year.

The Pittsburgh skyline is certainly one of the most gorgeous in the country, if not the world. One of the best places to admire the skyline is from atop Mount Washington, specifically from the West End Overlook. West End-Elliot Overlook Park also features pristine gardens and walkways, the perfect spot for enjoying the views and the fresh air.

Heinz Memorial Chapel, a non-denominational chapel that has served the community since 1938, certainly deserves status as one of the most breathtaking spots in Pittsburgh. Admire the view from the outside then head indoors for a tour. Regular services are also held at the chapel.

Between the wildlife and natural wonders, like waterfalls, McConnells Mill State Park appeals to just about everyone. The park features more than 11 miles of trails ranging from easy to difficult. Other popular activities at the park include whitewater rafting, fishing, and picnicking. (Photographers will also find plenty of natural wonders to shoot, too.)

There's something infinitely romantic about travel. Close your eyes and imagine the hustle and bustle that once filled Union Station in Pittsburgh. A visit to the Union Station Rotunda will also give you the chance to admire its sheer beauty. The historic train station first opened in 1901.

Connect with nature at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve. Part of the Audubon Society of Western PA, the nature reserve spans 134 acres of lush green, footbridges, and local wildlife. Hike some or all of the trails — totaling five miles — to enjoy the full experience at the nature reserve.

Uncover the beauty of nature — waterfalls, wildlife, and forested areas — at Sahli Nature Park in Beaver Falls. The 90-acre nature park also features two ponds, a picnic pavilion, and a nursery for butterflies. Hike along one of the trails. And, stop by the Information Center, housed in a charming red cottage.

Waterfalls are surely one of nature's miracles, wouldn't you say? Day trip to Ohiopyle State Park to experience the beauty of Cucumber Falls. View the falls from above at an observation deck. Then, climb down a set of stairs to the base of the falls. Cucumber Falls is less than a mile from Ohiopyle Falls, so make it a point to see both.
