To get to Cucumber Falls, just drive to the Cucumber Falls parking lot. However, if you want to see Jonathan Run Falls, you'll set off on the 3.5-mile Youghiogheny River Trail.

With 79 miles of hiking trails to scenic overlooks, something exquisite is available for viewing.
To view the waterfall from the visitor center, stop by between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., seven days a week, from April 16 to October 31, seven days a week; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday, Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.

  • Pennsylvania Trolley Museum (1 Museum Rd, Washington, PA): From a dream born in 1941, this interesting place came to Chartiers Township in 1954 with only three trolleys. Today the 600-member museum hosts an impressive collection of about 50 cars and annually welcomes more than 30,000 visitors. The best time to visit is October during the fall season when you can ride the Pumpkin Patch Trolley trimmed in autumn decorations. Each children's ticket allows them to select a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and decorate it in the event's room.   • Fallingwater (1491 Mill Run Road, Mill Run, PA): Sometimes waterfalls in Pennsylvania have a difficult hike to reach them. This beautiful place attracts nature lovers and especially fans of architecture from all around the world to see Frank Lloyd Wright’s celebrated and unique design. But visitors receive two spectacular views in one, as the house imaginatively sits atop a breathtaking waterfall, flowing from Bear Run.
  • Riverview Park (159 Riverview Ave, Pittsburgh, PA): This 259-acre park lights up in the fall with its densely wooded trails and steep hillsides. Hikers, joggers, and horseback riders are invited into these pretty woods. The park also offers a visitors center, a swimming pool, and the most memorable Allegheny Observatory.  Eat lunch during your autumn visit at the historic Chapel Shelter that was once a Presbyterian church.
