Dining out in Pittsburgh can certainly be an adventure. But, you usually know what to expect from one visit to the next when you hit your favorite restaurants, right? Of course, on warmer days, you can sit on the outdoor patio, shaded from the sun by protective umbrellas. Listen as the water tumbles down in the swan fountain, the centerpiece of the outdoor seating area.
Peruse the eclectic menu, perhaps starting with one of the hearty appetizers. Pub curry chips, pub pretzels, and mussels are among your options. Want to warm up on a cool day? Try the soup du jour.
Dig into one of the assortment of entrees on the menu, such as burgers, fish and chips, mac and cheese, and seared sea scallops. Looking for something a little lighter? Opt for a Caesar or a local salad, the latter of which is made with greens from local vendors.
Really loving the atmosphere at The Abbey on Butler Street? Stay a while longer; order dessert. Choose from such favorites as chocolate chip cheesecake, chocolate toffee torte, or sea salt lemon tart.
