If you're ever been to downtown Pittsburgh, you've almost certainly passed Union Station. But, have you strolled into the Rotunda? Take a few minutes to just admire the rotunda, nestled in the historic train station that dates back to 1903.
You'll have to head out of Pittsburgh, traveling to Washington to discover the sheer beauty of Destiny Hill Farm. The picture-perfect farm hosts weddings and other special events. But, it's also known for its annual Lavender Festival, welcoming visitors to stroll through its blossoming lavender fields each June.

A burst of color spans six acres at Boyce Park's Indian Hill. The meadow, brimming with black-eyed susans, debuted in 2017. Climb to the top of the hill, where you'll get sweeping views of the vibrant meadow. And, sit down for a picnic lunch while you're there.

Tucked away on Fifth Avenue, the Rodef Shalom Biblical Botanical Garden promises tranquility among the hustle and bustle of the city. Stroll through the garden, blooming with 100 plants from Israel, and admire the scenery. Join other Pittsburghers on a tour of the gardens on the first Wednesday of the month, which run from June through September.

Connect with nature at the sprawling Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. Nestled in Oakdale, the tranquil garden features several hiking trails, a picturesque pond, and a fairy garden. Spend a lovely day meandering through the Japanese Garden, past the Heritage Homestead, and to the soon-to-be-built Garden of Five Senses. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is open all year.

Admire the beauty of nature at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, which also serves as the headquarters of the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania. Embark on one of the serene hiking trails that crisscrosses the 134-acre nature reserve. Each trail, in fact, is less than one-mile and will give you an up close look at local wildlife, including red fox, owls, deer, and raccoons.

Embrace nature's beauty at Fern Hollow Nature Center, a haven for local wildlife and the final mention on our list of beautiful places in Pittsburgh. The nature center also hosts a variety of educational programs.
