Feel as though you’ve stepped back in time – right back to the 1950’s – when you stroll into Valliant’s Diner. The 50’s themed diner in Pittsburgh features everything you remember about the good old days. Stools sat next to a counter, the perfect spot for a milkshake. Cozy booths. And, of course, all the memorabilia from the 1950’s that will lead you on a stroll down Memory Lane.
Valliant's Diner, a 50's themed diner that opened in the late 1960's, has been delighting diners with its cozy atmosphere and delicious meals for more than half a century.
Founded by Peter Valliant, an immigrant from Greece, and his wife Helen, the diner has won its fair share of awards in the past half of a century. Pittsburgh Magazine honored the diner several times and it also starred in a Super Bowl ad in 2006.
Grab a seat at the counter or sink into one of the comfy booths where you can let your gaze wander, falling upon the timeless memorabilia that adorns the walls.
Then, it's time to get down to business and think about food.. What'll you have? Breakfast or lunch? Breakfast favorites include eggs, buttermilk pancakes, omelets, and French toast.
The lunch menu features an assortment of salads and sandwiches. Choose from such sandwiches as ham and cheese, turkey, giant fish, or Philly steak. Shrimp and chicken tenders are also popular options.
But, wait! You're not done yet. What's a trip back to the 50's without a scrumptious dessert? Dig in to a freshly baked pie. Or, have a refreshing scoop of vanilla ice cream.
