When’s the last time you’ve gone out on a good, old-fashioned adventure? Living in PA means we can find adventure in so many places. We don’t have to cross state lines to find a unique day trip. A visit to Penn’s Cave in Pennsylvania, for example, promises far more than a cave boat tour (though it’s really awesome) and is the perfect destination for an unforgettable adventure.
Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park in Centre Hall is one of the most unique attractions in Pennsylvania and, in fact, the United States. Yep, it is the only all-water cave in the country.
However, the cave is just one part of what promises to be an amazing adventure. You'll probably also want to check out the wildlife park, do a little gem mining, and escape a miner's maze.
One of the highlights of your visit is likely to be the boat tour through the cave. Unfortunately, the tour is not handicap accessible, and you must be able to climb 48 steep concrete stairs to...
...reach the cave and to leave the cave. Because of the pandemic, all guests must also wear masks during the tour and if you stop by the visitors center.
Regardless of the temperature above ground, the cave maintains a steady temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit all year round. You might get a bit wet, too, as the cave sometimes drips.
Tours last around 50 minutes. A seasoned guide will provide a narrative as you make your way through the all-water cave that features cascades, pillars, and flowstone.
