Pennsylvania has a ton of amazing towns with great history and bustling shops. Some, though, have incredibly appealing main streets that visitors flock to for their fun atmospheres and welcoming residents. Here are the main streets in PA that offer you the most fun.
1. Hollidaysburg
In September of 2014, Hollidaysburg won distinction with The National Main Street Center and Pennsylvania Downtown Center Program Accreditation Award. Its Main Street not only has a variety of shopping and dining opportunities, but throws fun seasonal festivals year-round.
2. Lititz
Lititz is famous nationwide as an amazingly charming small town, and thus its main street does not disappoint. With over 50 shops and endless restaurants, Lititz's main drag is the perfect backdrop for the events and entertainment that you will find there.
3. Bethlehem
As you can see, even in the sleet, Main St. in Bethlehem is cozy and appealing. The oldest continuously operating bookstore in the world, The Moravian Book Shop, can be found here, and during the holiday season it is decked out with a gorgeous array of lights and decorations.
4. Bloomsburg
Main Street, Bloomsburg is a prime destination no matter your interests: they have comic book stores, art galleries, a coin shop, a tea house, and more.
5. DuBois
DuBois is known for its amazing theatre; you can catch captivating acts at the retro-feeling Paul G. Reitz Theater downtown.
6. Wayne
Wayne is one of the towns in the beautiful Mainline area outside of Philadelphia. With theaters, restaurants, bakeries, and comfy hotels, Lancaster Avenue in Wayne has tons of things to keep you occupied.
7. Gettysburg
Most people flock to Gettysburg to visit the historic battlefield, but the downtown itself has much to offer. Along Steinwehr Avenue is the main tourist drag of Gettsyburg, but a bit further north of this area is a bustling commercial area with a rich history.
8. Oakland, Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is the second biggest city in Pennsylvania, and has numerous neighborhoods with different main streets. Forbes Avenue, however, is the main street that runs through the entire city and in Oakland, in particular, has a variety of attractions...from the famous Primanti Brothers to the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History.
