Hidden natural oases are tucked in all corners of Pennsylvania, just waiting to be discovered. This one-of-a-kind nature center in Pennsylvania promises something for visitors of all ages, both the kiddos and the adults, making it a must-visit. Wear a pair of comfy walking shoes, too, if you want to explore both indoors and outdoors.
Tucked away on 65 acres in Northampton Township, Churchville Nature Center has been a natural oasis - and an ideal spot to learn more about the environment - since it opened in 1964.
A stop at the visitor center is the perfect way to start your adventure. It's brimming with fun - from interpretive exhibits to live animals. You can even watch the birds outside from the bird blind.
Spending time indoors is fun, but make sure you carve out time to explore outside, too. Wear comfy shoes, so you can wander along some or all of the two miles of trails. Parts of the trails are wheelchair accessible.
As you explore, you'll likely catch sight of a variety of wildlife - deer, turtles, and frogs. Visit the butterfly house seasonally, too. It's typically open from early July through late September.
Nature trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset. However, the nature center welcomes visitors during certain days and hours; be sure to check its website before going for up-to-date hours.
